AIRPORT TRANSIT PRIVILEGE OF NAMIBIAN PASSPORT HOLDER AT SPECIFIC GERMAN AIRPORTS

This Serves to inform the airport transit privileges of Namibian passport holders at specific German airports, as received by the Embassy of the Republic of Germany:

All Namibian passport holders have an airport transit privilege and therefore do not require an airport transit visa (category A) for transiting at the following German airports:

  • Frankfurt / Main
  • Munich
  • Hamburg (04h30 – 23h30 only)
  • Düsseldorf (06h00 – 21h00 only), and if the airline has arranged the transit beforehand with the authorities responsible for cross-border security (the Federal Police)
  • Berlin-Brandenburg

HOWEVER, TAKE NOTE: If Namibian Official Passport Holder and Namibian Ordinary Passport Holder have to enter the Schengen area during a stopover, for example to change terminals at another German airport or if the destination is in a Schengen country, a transit visa is required.  Therefore, a transit visa is required when travelling to / transiting two Schengen entry areas.
