U.S.-Namibia Executive Business Roundtable at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
On 15 April 2026, the Embassy supported the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Africa Business Center in convening a U.S.–Namibia Executive Business Roundtable, featuring Hon. Ebson Uanguta, Governor of the Bank of Namibia, who represented Hon. Ericah Shafudah, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Namibia.
The Governor presented a compelling, data‑driven outlook on Namibia’s economic reforms, investment climate, and pathways for deeper U.S. private‑sector engagement.
The Government of the United States was represented by Hon. Jason Grubb, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Southern Africa at the U.S. Department of State, whose presence reaffirmed the strategic importance the United States places on its partnership with Namibia. The discussion also included interventions by Dr. Guevera Yao, Vice President of the U.S. Africa Business Center, Rula Dajani, Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs for MENA at Citi; and Witney Schneidman, CEO of Schneidman & Associates.
Held on the margins of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings, the engagement provided a valuable platform for candid conversations on key priorities including macroeconomic stability, financial sector development, regulatory coordination, and unlocking investment opportunities across sectors.
The Embassy remains committed to strengthening U.S.–Namibia economic partnerships and facilitating continued dialogue that drive tangible results.
